Seller is refusing refund for a defective product

Asked by NandaKumar on 06-05-2026 07:15 AM
Question:
I purchased an electronic product that stopped working within a few days. The seller is refusing replacement or refund. Can I file a consumer complaint?
Answer:
Preserve the invoice, warranty card, payment record, photographs, service reports and communications with the seller or manufacturer. First submit a written complaint demanding repair, replacement or refund. If the issue is not resolved, a consumer complaint may be filed before the competent Consumer Commission, depending on jurisdiction and the value of the claim. Compensation may also be sought for proven loss, deficiency in service or unfair trade practice.
